Will of Edmund Lindley of Brierley in the County of York

In the name of God Amen.  I Edmund Lindley of Brierley in the county of York, Yeoman, being in a bad state of health but of sound mind and memory praised be God for the same do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit first  My will is that all my just debts, the expenses of my funeral and the probat of this my will be first paid  Then I give and bequeaths unto my son, Joseph Lindley the sum of £100 to be paid to him when he shall attain the age of 21 years  And the  further sum of three pounds and 10 shillings to be paid to him half yearly and at the End of every halfyear nextafter my decease until his attainment to his said Age of Twenty one Years Also I give and bequeathunto my daughter Jane Lindley1 the sum of Eighty pounds to be paid her at the End of Two years next after my decease and Twenty and five shillings to be paid her at the End of every halfyear next after my decease during the same two two Years  Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Frances Lindley2 the Like Sum of Eighty pounds to be paid her when she shall attain her age of Twentyone Years or be marryed which shall first happen  Also I Give and bequeath unto my daughters Mary Lindley3 and Elizabeth Lindley4 to each of them the like Sum of Eighty pounds to be paid to them severally & respectively when and as they shall severally and respectively attain to the Age of Twenty one Years or be marryed which shall first happen  And for Security of the payment of all my unpaid Debts  the Expences of my Funeral & the probat of this my Will and the said Legacies Gifts and bequests by Me hereinbefore Given & bequeathed I hereby charge with the payment thereof all my Lands Tenements & Personall Estate whatsoever Except the Lands and Tenements which were by me settled in Jointure upon my Intermarriage with my dear wife and all my best Table Linnen which U hereby give my said Dear wife all which Lands Tenements and personal Estate whatsoever except as befre excepted. I Give and Devise unto my son George Lindley his heirs and assigns forever nevertheless Subject and Charged as aforesaid which said George Lindley my Son I hereby nominate and appoint Sole Executor of this my last will and Testament revoking all other wills and Testaments by me heretofore made and Declaring this to be my last will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said  Edmund Lindley have herunto set my hand & Seal this fifth day of May in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and thirty six.
