In the name of God Amen, the 22nd day of September in the year of oure Lord God 1543 and in the year of the reigne of oure Soveraiyn Lorde Henrie the eighth Kinge of Englande, France and Yrelande defender of the faith and in suche, Supreme heade of the churche of Englande and Yrelande next under God as, I Thomas Lyndley of Potternewton within the p[er]ishe of Ledes and in the countie of Yorke of goode and p[er]fect mynde and hath remembrance do ordain and make this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge, that is to say First I give and bequeath my soull to almightie God my creator and savior and to his glorious mother oure blessed Ladye sainte Marie and to all the saints in heaven and my bodie to be buried within the church yarde of Sainte Peter at Ledes. Item I give and bequeath to the blessed sacrament of the saide church 12d. Item I give to every one of the children of Richarde Brahin [?] a yewe and a lambe. Item I give to every one of the children of Peter Wade a yewe and a lambe. Item I give to Agnis Blades the daughter of Robert Blades a glye with calf and a yewe and a lambe. Item I give and bequeath to Margaret my servante a yewe and a lambe. Item I give and bequeath to Grace Blades the wif of the saide Robert Blades a cowe. The residue of all my goodes not legate I give and bequeathe to my children that is to say Gilbert Lyndley, Robt, Thomas, John and Jannett to be equallie devyded amongst theme who I ordain and make my full and holl executors.  There being witnesses  Thomas Hardwike gentleman; Sr P[er]syval Arthington and Sr Willm Brahin[?] / Brahm

 

Administration of the estate granted 27 Nov, 1543—Robert, Thomas, John [eupsn] in as representing the executors.
