 This is the last Will & Testament of me William Lindley of Allerton Bywater in the Parish of Kippax in the County of York Yeoman made Published and declared this Fifteenth day of November in the year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Eighty eight in manner following (that is to say).

First I will and direct that all my just Debts Funeral Expenses and the Expenses of proving this my Will be fully paid and satisfied.

I Give and Devise unto my Brothers John Lindley and Joseph Lindley their Heirs and assigns All that Close called Roundhill Close by estimation two acres more or less being Meadow or Pasture Ground situate at Castleford in the said County a certain close of the Lord of the Manor therein the possession of Widow Prince lying on the East and a certain Balk or parcel of Wast Ground on the West thereof with the appurtenances In Trust never theless to sell the same as soon after my decease as convenient may be for the best price that can be gotton for the same and pay and apply the money arising from the sale thereof as hereinafter directed.

I Give and Devise unto my said two Brothers John & Joseph Lyndley All and every the Goods Chattles Monies Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever which I shall be possessed of or interested in at the time of my decease upon the Trusts and to the Uses intents and purposes herein after mentioned respecting the same (that is to say) I do direct and declare that my said Trustees and the Survivor of them shall be possessed as well of the said Monies Arising or to Arise from the Sale of the said premises as of all other my personal Estate and Effects In Trust to apply the same to and for the Maintenance of my Wife and Children until my Eldest Son William shall attain the Age of Twenty one years And from and immediately after my said Son shall attain that Age then to pay and apply the same to my said Wife and Children in equal Shares and proportions But in case my said Wife shall marry again it is my Will and mind that she shall not be entitled or receive any part or share of the said Trust Estate Monies and premises And in such case the same and every part thereof shall be paid and applied to my Children as they respectively shall attain the Age of Twenty one years in equal shares and proportions And it is my Will and I do hereby declare that the Receipt alone of the them my said Trustees or the Survivor of them shall be a sufficient discharge to the Purchaser or Purchasers of the said Close and premises for the Purchase Money without such of Purchase or Purchasers being obliged to see to the application thereof And I do hereby constitute and appoint the said John Lindley and Joseph Lindley joint Executors of this my Will hereby revoking all other Wills by me made. In Witness whereof I the said William Lindley (the Testator) have hereunto put my hand and seal the day and year first above written
