This family as an armigerous family (coat of Arms) and the parish Registers show that they were there in the 1500's. The Hippons were linked to the Lindley's through an Elizabeth Hippon known as Betty who married William Lindley (Brewer) at Castleford All Saints in the 1770's. Betty's father was George Hippon Gentleman.
